Activities Overview
What are Activity blocks and why use them?
Activity blocks are a special type of block that allows you to track student participation in various activities. Anything where you want to assign to a classroom schedule but not necessarily associate to a specific staff member is a candidate for an activity. These are totally optional and some schools don’t use them at all. Common activities include: “Nap time”, “Lunch”, “Circle time”, “Clean-up” etc. When reporting and organizing the day to share with the rest of your team activities prove useful. They are especially useful for managing aftercare programs, clubs, sports teams, and we talk about that below.
How activities are different from regular blocks
Regular blocks are used for scheduling specific staff whereas actvity blocks are not associated with any staff. Also they are in their own row for each classroom. Activity blocks are different because they are designed for tracking student participation. This means that they have special features, such as the ability to add student names and generate reports.
Pro Tip: you can hide the activites row if you don’t use them by unchecking the box in the visual configuration settings in the setting window.
Tracking students with activity blocks
Activity blocks are the key to tracking students in your aftercare programs. By making any activity an aftercare program, you can add student names and keep track of who is where.
